Reef Island is being developed by Lulu Tourism Company, an organization established in 2002 as an equal joint venture between the Government of Bahrain and the Mouawad Group Inc. Reef Island is the first and only major development undertaken as a partnership between the public and private sectors in Bahrain.</p> <p style="margin: 0px 0px 20px; padding: 0px; line-height: 20px; color: rgb(63, 63, 63); font-family: "Open Sans", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"> The island is a high-end residential development built entirely on 579,000 meters squared of reclaimed land and designed to accommodate residential buildings, villas, parks, a beach resort, a hotel and spa, a shopping mall and a yacht club.
